Models Own Tropical Sun

Hello all!!

And today, we finally have the last of the Beetle Juice Collection.. and one of my personal favorites, Tropical Sun!

This polish is an amazing light pinky coral with a great golden/yellow shimmer to it. The application was really good on this, however it is pretty sheer! Definitely  not at sheer as Indian Ocean.. but still sheer! This was about 5 coats, and I still had a tiny bit of VNL showing..

But the color is amazing!! It's a perfect color for spring...

I apologize in advance for some of the pictures... my pinkie was being wonky and was determined to have a mind of it's own. However it does show the color shift pretty well.

Models Own Emerald Black

Hello All!

Here we have the next in our Models Own BeetleJuice Series: Emerald Black!

This is one of my favorite Beetlejuice polishes. It's a black base with a stunning teal shimmer! I put this baby in the sun, and Bam!! I was knocked out by how amazing the shimmer was.. It was so beautiful, I seriously stared at it for about five minutes, just wiggling my fingers in the sun before taking pictures!

This was three coats, and the application was a bit tricky. It tended to be a little bit goopy and thick, but I think that is worth it for what you end up with.

Models Own Aqua Violet

Hello All!

I hope you are having a great day!

Next in my Models Own Beetlejuice series is :Aqua Violet!

This one was a favorite of mine! Check out that gorgeous blue shimmer! This is super stunning in the sun. I didn't see too much of the violet shift though. You can see a little bit of it in the second picture..So if you are a big violet fan, you might be disappointed, but I love blue! Not to much of a duo chrome.. but still pretty!

This was three coats of Aqua Violet, and it went on fairly well. I had no trouble with application. I used a top coat, and these pictures were taken in direct sunlight.

Models Own Golden Green

Hello all!

Here is the next post in my Models Own Beetlejuice collection: Golden Green!!

This color is actually pretty simple.. It's a.. golden green! I actually don't have much to say about it..

It went on well in three coats, though it did bubble slightly on my pointer finger!

Enjoy the pictures!!

Models Own Copper Pot and Indian Ocean

Hello All!!

Well for the next week and a half, or so.. I am going to be doing a series on the Models Own Beetlejuice collection! All eight polishes will be reviewed right here.

And to kick us off, here are two from the new Beetlejuice collection, Copper Pot and Indian Ocean! My husband picked out this combo for me, he said it reminded him of a golden ring with a diamond in it.. and it totally does!!

Copper Pot went on well, I didn't have any issues with the application and I think this is about three coats.. However I was a little disappointed by it.. For something called Copper Pot, I was expecting something.. Oh I don't know.. more.. coppery! This was pretty much gold. And there wasn't much of a copper shift in the sun.. Just gold...

Indian Ocean took.. 6.. Yes that is right.. 6 coats and it still wasn't opaque! I honestly don't know what would make it opaque. I am pretty sure you will have to layer it over something in order to not have the Visible Nail Line.. But.. it makes up for it sheerness.. Because it is gorgeous! It has a yellow shimmer to it, as well as bright pink shimmer, and then of course the blue! I seriously couldn't stop starting at my nails in the sun! So Shimmery!!

Essence: Where is the Party?

Hello All! I hope you are having a good week?

Today I have an Essence polish to show you!

I have really gotten into Essence lately, seeing as how I can find them now at Fred Meyer!! I have this polish, and a cute sparkly top coat, and a few others.. I even have a few of their lip glosses! Which are totally great by the way! They aren't sticky at all! I won't show you pictures of them though... My lips are super tiny.. and I won't subject you to that!! Nails only on this blog!!

And speaking of nails, let's get to that shall we?

This is Essence's Where is the Party? It's a Silvery/steely/gray  and purple duochrome! I could see a bit of blue in bottle.. and a hint of it in the shade.. but in the sun it's all grayish and purple! The polish went on smooth and perfect!!

I LOVE me some duochromes, though I don't have many yet.. Though I did just get OPI's Just spotted the Lizard! I am excited to try that.

The below pictures are 3 coats of  Where is the Party and one coat of Seche Vite. The pictures were taken in the sun.

You can really see the different colors in the polish! So pretty!! :D

365 Days of Color Polishes Swatches and Reviews (Pic Heavy!)

Hello all!

I was sent two very special polishes to review and here they are!

Today I will be showing you, 365 Days of Color: Summer Dream and Make Me Laugh-y Taffy

First up is Summer Dream:

This is a beautiful Light blue/green polish (It shows blue in my pictures, but it is a tad bit greener in person) That has tons of multicolored glitter in it.. There are round glitters, bar glitters, even a stray square glitter here and there! So much glitter!! I loved it!!

It went on super smooth, and I had no trouble at all with getting the glitters onto the nail, however.. I was a bit disappointed by how opaque this polish was. I had so many pretty glitters on my nail, and then the next coat covered them right up. I would have preferred this to be a jelly in order to see how many beautiful glitters that were down through the layers.. So many pretty glitters got covered up..

But that is the only downside!

The Below pictures are three coats of Summer Dream, with one coat of Seche Vite. The Pictures were taken in the sun..

Also Pardon the wonky stripes.. I don't know what that is.. perhaps it was the shadow of my screen..

Next we have..Make Me Laugh-y Taffy! (See, I told you I would get it right!)

This is an AMAZING (yes that needed to be in Caps!) Polish. It's a light pink jelly with multi-colored Shreds.. yeah that is right.. Shreds! And they are so beautiful! This polish is so unique, I have never seen anything quite like it! I know I will be ordering a full size of this.. I will quickly run out of the mini!

The application was perfect, and the shreds went on easily! It is a jelly, so there is a little Visible nail line.. but it's totally worth it! The jelly makes you able to see all the shreds down through the layers, giving it a jelly sandwich like feel. SO Pretty!!

The Below pictures are three coats, with one coat of Seche Vite, and the pictures are taken in the sunlight!

Models Own Purple Blue

Hello all!

Today I have for you.. Models Own: Purple Blue.

I was really disappointed with this polish. I could have been so amazing! The name conjures up images of a smooth dark purple with flashes of dark blue when you move your nails around..

Instead, what we get is a shimmer packed polish that couldn't quite decide what it was doing.. It didn't really look purple, it certainly wasn't blue.. Most of the time I got a burgundy color with pink shimmers in it.. and flashes of brown!

Yeah fully disappointed!

The below pictures is three coats with a top coat!

Models Own Pinky Brown

Hello All!

Today we have for you..

Pinky Brown!

Now, this wasn't my favorite of the bunch, this and Purple blue were really disappointing to me. Pinky brown has a soft duochrome effect, and a really great magenta shimmer that my camera refused to pick up.. but it was sort of.. blah to me..

I guess I wanted it to be like some sort of an amazing smooth duo chrome, but instead it was a heavier shimmer polish.. Oh well..

The application was good, and the pictures below are 3 coats of Pinky Brown and one coat of Seche Vite.

My First Doticure!

Hello All!

I hope everyone is having a great week!

So, I have been wanting dotting tools for awhile now, and one of my amazing Ladies from one one my Facebook groups, gave me some in a swap we did a few weeks ago!!

So, of course I had to bust them out, and attempt something super cool looking!

This is 4 coats of Color Club's Blue-Ming, don't let the name fool you.. This polish isn't blue. It isn't even close to blue! It leans closer to a minty green in some lights and a lighter greeny color with some blue in it in other lights. My husband and I were looking at it for quite awhile attempting to come up with an exact color, but neither one of us could!

Anyways, I used Sinful's Black on Black and Snow Me White for the dots, as well as different sized Dotting tools!!

BAM! My first doticure! I am super pleased with it! In fact, I really didn't want to take this off ..

Cupcake Nails

Hello All!

I hope Everyone is having a good week?

Today, I have some nail art for you. I recently got the Models Own Pastel collection from a swap with a lovely lady in England, and I thought, what better way to put it to use, than to do some nail art??

So I got out my colors, and my dotting tools and went to work!

The base color is Models Own Pastel Pink, and then I took my dotting tools, and Sinful's Snow Me White, to make a cloud like shape for the frosting. I used Models Own Lilac Dream, for the little stripes, and then for the dots I used Revlon's Blue Lagoon, Models Own Lemon Meringue, and then for the green I mixed the yellow and the blue together, as I don't have any pastel greens!

And Voila! There you have it, a cupcake Mani!
