KBShimmer: Quantum Leaf

Hello All!
Happy Halloween! I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful day. And I hope all you ladies that are being affected by Sandy are staying safe!

Today I don't have a Halloween mani for you, as I am not a big Halloween person, I am much more into Christmas and Thanksgiving! But I do have an amazing Fall mani for you, so.. let's jump right in shall we?

This is KBShimmers Quantum Leaf! I not only love the name(I loved the show Quantum Leap) but I love this polish as well as KBShimmer! Her polishes are so amazing and creative! I can't wait to get my hands on some of her new collection coming out! They look amazing! (Let's hope I can limit myself to one or two, due to my no buy!)

Quantum Leaf has a rustic yellow gold color is the base of this polish. Orange, copper, gold and red hexes mimic the warm colors of fall leaves. Extra large red hexes complete this polish, almost as beautiful as a sugar maple red come autumn. That is the description straight from her website, and it couldn't be more accurate! Look how amazing this polish is! Perfect for Fall!

This polish went on smoothly and evenly, the glitters came out easily and I have no application issues at all! I never do with KBShimmer, they have got to be my favorite Indie Brand! I used three coats of Quantum leaf and a top coat to smooth everything out!

China Glaze Swatch Spam

Hello all!!

Can you believe it is almost November already? Seriously, where has the time gone?? Just Yesterday it seems like it was July, and now it's almost Thanksgiving!!

I love this time of year! I love the cold weather and sweaters and rain.. (It rains a lot here in the Pacific Northwest!) And hopefully it will snow a whole lot like it did last year! I adore snow!

Anyways, enough with the weather stuff and onto the nail polish stuff. Since my no buy is still going, I have done a few large swatch spam posts, and now it's China Glaze's turn!!

So, Onto the polish shall we?

First up with have Deviantly Daring. This is from the China Glaze Bohemian Luster Chrome Collection, Their duochrome collection that came out a couple of months ago. I was seriously excited about this collection, but when it arrived it was a little less than stellar!!

Deviantly Daring is a Blue/Teal/Green duo chrome. I wish there was a tad bit more duochrome in it, but I really did love the color! I am a sucker for blues after all! The polish went on well, a tad bit thin, but three coats brought it up to full opacity.  It did get slightly brush-strokey (Is that even a word?) But, I think it was worth it!!

Next up is Coconut Kiss, a lovely pink leaning purple. As usual my camera freaked out at the purple, so it's a tad bit more purple in real life!

Application was good, it went on well, and it took 3 coats to bring it up to full opacity. This polish is also naturally shiny! I didn't use any sort of top coat in the below pictures, and look at how it shines! Woo!! :D

Next up is Blue Iguana a Bright Blue microshimmer foil with a bright Aqua shimmer to it! I loved this polish, it was such a bright in your face sort of blue, however it was super sheer! I used three coats in the below pictures and I still had VNL! I probably could have done a few more coats, but I didn't feel like it!

This polish was super fun, and I don't have anything else like it in my nail collection!

Last but not least, we have Unpredictable. Another one from the Bohemian Luster Chrome Collection. A Greenish Blue Gold Duochrome! I loved this color! It was super cool, and the color shift was pretty good as well! It went on fairly easily as well! I used three coats for the below pictures!

Adventures in Striping tape!

Hello All,

Guess who got some striping tape??

Yeah I did!! And so, I decided to take it for a whirl! Now, this isn't super complex or even super complicated, for my first time I wanted to keep it fairly simple.

I used Picture Polish White Wedding as a base, which is a great sparkly white base. I did have to use about 4 coats of it though to get it opaque! After that had dried, I took my striping tape and Zoya Evangeline and Cult Nails Devious Nature, and did some random designs!

I really loved these nails, they are pretty simple, but for my first time.. they weren't too bad! What do you think??

Just remember it was my first time! I will get better as time goes on and hopefully will branch out into something a bit more complicated! We shall see.

Let me know what you think!

Hello All,

I have a lovely Nails Inc Polish for you. This is Notting Hill Gate, a lovely neon pink color!

The polish was a bit thick, but it went on well, and I used three coats for full opacity! It's a lovely color for summer, or even if you want to brighten up your fall wardrobe with a splash of color!

KBShimmer Party!

Hello All,

I have another KBShimmer polish to show you today. I seriously can not get enough of her polishes, and I know that I will be buying several more of her new collection! Which is seriously sad, because.. I have so many untried's sitting on my nail polish rack!

Oh well!

Let me introduce you to Party!

This is a beautiful white based polish with multicolored glitters as well as some red and blue square glitters as well! Who doesn't love a good square glitter??

The below pictures are 3 coats of party and one coat of Dazzle Dry Top coat to make everything smooth and shiny...

Also.. can we say YAY? I got myself a lightbox!! :D Hence why the pictures looks so light and amazing! It's super big and clunky though, so it only comes out on special swatching occasions!

Butter London Swatch Spam!! Pic heavy!!

Hello All,
Today I have some swatches of one my favorite brands.. butter London!! I picked up several of these during the Ulta buy two get one free sale! I also picked up a few on my birthday! Woo! Nothing says Happy Birthday like a trip to Ulta!

I am currently on a low/no buy at the moment, so I thought what better time than to trim down my untried's! I've gone from well over 50, down to just under 30! So expect some random swatch spam posts in the future! This is the first of them, I hope you all are ready for some amazing polishes!

Let's jump in shall we??

Onto the Swatches!

Mush!

First up, we have Teddy Girl, this polish is an absolutely lovely light pink cream, that made my fingers look super tan! I have no filters or any adjustments on these pictures at all, that is really just the polish and my.. odd colored fingers!

Sadly, the application on this polish wasn't the greatest, it was rather thin and streaky and thick all at the same time! The below pictures are 4 coats and a top coat to even things out. But, I think it's worth it.. What do you think? It's such a gorgeous color! So bright and girly! I loved it, despite the tricky application.

Next up we have Slapper, which is an amazing teal cream! This polish was amazing, it went on like a dream, two easy coats, and no top coat! This polish was super shiny on it's own! I really need to wear this again! I don't have anything like this in my collection, and I absolutely loved it!

Also, the polish leans more green than it does in the pictures. It is a true teal, however my camera was determined to make it blue! Gah! And sadly, I can't take any pictures outside, due to the fact, that the rain has come back! Oh well.. enjoy the lovely.. blueness..

Up Next is Sprog, Which is a lovely periwinkle/lavender leaning cream! I loved this color! It's super unique and amazing! And lately, after all the glitter bombs and shimmers that I have been wearing, it feels super nice to put a nice cream back on my nails! Almost like slipping into your favorite sweatshirt!

The application on this was okay, it was a bit thin and streaky, but the third coat seemed to even it out perfectly! Sprog also leans a bit more purple than it does in the pictures below. Again, my camera kinda of had a fit when I was trying to photograph this!

Next up we have Trustafarian. YAY for Holo's! It's odd, usually I don't like holo's, but lately, I've been on a Holo kick, it might have to do with the 3 months of sun that we had up here, (which is so weird, let me tell you, everything is all brown and gross, you would think we lived in the desert instead of the Pacific Northwest!) Or it might have to do with all the awesome Holo Polishes and butter London does an amazing holo!

Trustafarian is a beautiful light green holo. It's super light and amazing and.. it went on super perfectly, two easy coats to yummy holo-ey (Yes, I know that's not a word.) goodness!  Super amazing. I am sorry I don't know my scattered and linear holo's yet.. I'm still working on that! If anyone knows.. please let me know!

Ahhh.. Dodgy Barnett, another amazing Holo! It's a Silver one! I don't have any silver Holo's and I was super happy to grab this one! My husband really liked it as well! This was also two coats to amazing holo-y goodness! Super smooth and easy application! You totally need this polish! And Trustafarian.. just sayin'.

I have plans for this polish in the future.. involving striping tape!

I think out of all of the polishes that I picked up in the past few weeks, this one has got to be the one I was most excited about, and I was uberly bummed that I didn't have it in time for my falling forward nail art challenge! This is butter London Shag!!

Okay, so the name leaves a little bit to be desired.. but.. yeah..

Name aside, this is the perfect polish for fall! It's an amazing coppery-orangey shimmery foil! (Woo! For super specific terms! Haha) This polish is amazing, it totally looks like fallen leaves, and it went on amazingly! Two easy coats of perfection and done!

And last but certainly not least.. we have. Royal Navy! A Dark navy cream. To be honest, I was a little disappointed with this color. I had Revlon Royal on my nails when I was in Ulta, and I was comparing it to Royal Navy and they looked similar.

Sadly, once I got it on though it looked nothing like Royal! Sad!

But still an amazing color! And it went on like a dream, two easy coats!
