Falling Forward Nail Art Challenge: Day 5 Leaves!

Photobucket

Hello All! Welcome to Day 5.. Leaves!!
I have an interesting take on leaves today. It is more like a.. abstract version of leaves.. I got inspired by pictures of leaves bunched together, and so I decided to do something like that other than actually attempt leaf nail art!!

So, I started off with a Base of China Glaze Rainbow, and then added Essie shine of the Times, and then after that.. I used several colors and just sort of.. painted them on...

I used OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest, China Glaze, Harvest Moon and Riveting, Pomegranate Cuddles and Autumnesque, Sally Hansen Forbidden Fudge, Jessica Cinnamon Kiss and Orly Glitz and Glamour!

Woo!! That is a whole lot of polishes..

I personally really like it.. It looks like I have abstract paintings all on my nails!!

Falling Forward Nail Art Challenge Day 2: Beach/Tropical!

Photobucket

Hello All,

Today is Day 2 of the Falling forward Nail Art Challenge, It's Beachy Tropical, and I am so proud to say.. I did nail art!!! Okay, so it was an accent nail, but still.. super cool!

The idea for this mani, was a gradient, starting out with a dark blue (Zoya Ibiza) And then going a little lighter blue (Zoya Zuza) And finally ending in a light goldish sandy colors (Essence Go Bold!) Now, I did this gradient a little different than I usually do, I didn't paint on a base color, or use a sponge. Since My nails are so tiny.. (they really are super super little) I just painted stripes of color on my nails and then used a sponge over it! It worked out pretty well, I had to do it.. two or three times, but I got what I wanted, and then after that was done and cleaned up.. I matte-i-fied it.. and it came out perfectly!!

Photobucket

Ehh Ehh?? What do you think?? Oh and since my pinky is super little, the third color wouldn't fit! Hehe!
And then.. now comes the exciting part, one I got my gradient, I picked up my paint brush, dipped it in black  nail polish (Wet N Wild Black Creme) And slowly drew on my palm tree! After that, I dipped it in white (Sinful Snow me White) And drew on my birds.. and Voila!! Beach mani!

I am so incredibly proud of this, you don't even know!!

Falling Forward Nail Art Challenge Day 1: Neons!

Hello All,
And welcome to a very special edition of Munchy's nails! On top of all that I have going these next few weeks, I am also joining a small nail art challenge called Falling Forward!!

Photobucket

Soo, today we have Neons!! Woo, I love me some neons.. but..since it's after Labor day, is it okay to wear them?? I say yes!! (And when it is okay to wear white again? Seeing as.. every day is the day after Labor Day.. Just sayin'.)

A little preface to this post, and to the upcoming ones. I had just cut off all my nails, thinking I would have some time before you all saw them, when I agreed to do this challenge, and found out the first post was today!

Whoops.. and they are like.. extra short too.. so.. Pardon the Nubs!!

That being said, onto the Neon Goodness!

I actually had a heck of a time with this one, I knew I wanted to use China Glaze, I'm with the lifeguard as the base, but what did I want to do over it?? I tried three other things, (which will never see the light of day, seriously.. it was bad) and then finally decided to do my first Ruffian! Look at me, branching out.

So, this is China Glaze I'm with the Lifeguard with Love's a beach over it! Enjoy :D

Zoya Swatch Spam!! Pic Heavy!

Hello All,

So, As I was sitting starting at my nail polish shelf and disparing a bit at all of my untried's.. I decided to take down all of my untried Zoya's and swatch them all, and put them in a massive swatch post for all of you!

And this is the result of a massive swatching day, and many many beautiful Zoya's. Seriously, I don't know why I haven't tried them before!

Roll that beautiful bean footage..

Errr..

Swatch footage??

Onto the Pictures..

Mush!

First up, we have Zoya Savita, which is a beautiful deep purple matte with a slight pink shimmer. Which you can see more, when it is shiny..(I have included a shiny pic) This polish was super pretty, I loved it. It's such a rich deep purple, and it went on beautifully, unlike it's cousin Phoebe (more on that later) I had zero application problems, and I used three coats.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Gorgeous isn't it??? Here is it Shiny!! Did not want to take off!! So pretty!!!

Photobucket

Up next we have Yasmeen, Which is a beautiful Pink leaning Purple polish that has a pink shimmer to it. It's super amazing. It's super deep and glowy, and it totally almost reminded me of Max Factor Fantasy Fire, sort of anyways! It has that amazing deep purple and that great shimmer...  So beautiful! I need to wear this again, Stat! I had no application problems, and I used 3 coats for the following pictures.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Next up is Carly! A super beautiful magenta leaning purple foil. This polish was super opaque, and it only took two coats for the below pictures! I almost could have gotten away with one coat if I had been a bit more careful. It's super shimmery, there were no application problems at all!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Now we have Evangeline, which I really just bought for the name. Seeing as if/when Josh and I have a baby, if it is a girl, we want to name her Evangeline, and what would be better than presenting her with her very own nail polish that is named after her??

Evangeline is a nice deep pink with an orangish gold shimmer to it. It's really beautiful, and I love the color! There were no application problems, it went on super smoothly, and I used 3 coats!

This is Zoya Dana, and I apologize for the slight blurriness in the pic, my camera sort of freaked out with how bright this color was. Dana is a bright pink Creme, which bordered on a jelly. It had some application issues, it was a little thin and patchy, but three coats evened everything out! This one actually has a top coat on it as well, to make it extra shiny.
Photobucket

Photobucket

This is Happi, and beautiful light pink shimmery polish with a hint of a duochrome in it. It has an amazing yellow/spring green shimmer in it that is super amazing! I honestly don't have anything like it in my collection at all, and I actually wore this out to dinner! It was a little thin and streaky, but it evened out well, and this color is so worth it! I used 3 coats of Happi for the below pictures.

Photobucket

Photobucket

This is Tanzy, another nail polish that I bought because of the name! I am a writer, and I have had a few characters named Tanzy! So, I had to pick this up, now they just need one named Andrina..

Tanzy is a beautiful orange shimmer with gold glitter in it, it was a bit sheer but it built up well! I used 3 coats of Tanzy!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Next we have Midori, which is an apple green polish with a light yellow shimmer! This color is super amazing, perfect for spring! I loved this shade of green, and I know I will be wearing this one more often! It went on super well, and I used 3 coats for the below pictures.

This is Wednesday, a beautiful dusty teal green. It shows a bit lighter here than it does in real life. It is super pretty, and it reminded me of a rainy day. I am not sure why, but just looking at it, made me think of a dreary gray day. Which we get up here a lot in Tacoma! It's a good winter color!
It was a bit thick, and slightly streaky, but three coats evened everything out!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Ahhh, here we have Phoebe. This is a bright blue matte polish, and while it is beautiful, it was a pain to apply. It went on streaky, was super sheer, and it shows every single one of the ridges in my nails! Grr! Seriously, this was annoying to apply, but finally, after about 4 ish coat.. It got opaque, evened out and then...

Photobucket

Photobucket

Glorious isn't it? Such a beautiful and amazing blue!! This one is soo worth the tricky application.. And for a bonus I added a Shiny picture too!
Photobucket

And last but certainly not least, we have Ginessa, which is a pretty sparkly white polish. It has a tiny bit of silver in it, which makes it pretty unique. It's a great base color! In fact I am wearing some nice black vine stamping over it!

It was a bit sheer, and it took about 3 coats to build up..

Photobucket

Woo!! Well, I hope you all enjoyed my Zoya Swatch post! Which colors were your favorites??

I really liked Savita, Yasmeen, Wednesday and Phoebe!

KBShimmer: Cheerleader!

Hello All!!

Today I have a a fun Indie for you. It's KBShimmers Cheerleader! This polish has been on my lemming list for such a long time, and when I found out that it was being discontinued, I freaked out and bought it.. No buy or not!!

I am so glad I did too, this polish is Amazing. It's a jelly polish, which I love! I'm not really into glitter top coats unless they are super special (Ala Sonnetarium's Snowfall) And It's packed with Pink, Blue, white and purple glitters.

So pretty!!

I had zero application problems with this baby. It went on well and smoothly. The pictures are 3 coats of Cheerleader and two coats of Dazzle Dry Top Coat to smooth it all out!

Guh, feel free to drool!

Tough as Nails: Swatches and Review

Hello All,

Today I have some cool Indie Nail polishes to show you! These are Tough as Nails Polishes, and I must say that I that really enjoyed them. I usually don't like glitter toppers, but these I loved. Hmmm, I must be cracking under all the glitter loveliness seeing as I just bought another glitter topper!! Oh well.. I have to branch out and try new things right??

Anyways.. onto the beautiful-ness!

This is 43 Quintillion! 43 Quintillion is a topcoat lacquer. It contains hex glitters all of the colors you might find on a certain cube-shaped game from the 1980s, which happens to have forty-three quintillion combinations. 43 Quintillions is the life of the party -- she's a little bit wild, a little bit mixed up, and is always working to see how high she can get her bangs and how crimped she can get her hair.

Haha, I love that description, and it is so true!

I loves all the colors of this glitter, and I decided to layer it over Zoya Dana, to make it pop and really bring out all of the colors! I was going to try it over Revlon Royal, as that seems to be my go to layers polish, but I thought this would look perfect! and it does!

This is one coat of 43 Quintillion over Zoya Dana, along with some top coat to even it all out and make it smooth. It went on super well, and I had no issues at all with the glitter coming out.

Up next we have Not A Plain Jane: Not A Plain Jane is a topcoat lacquer, containing hex glitters in varying shades of white and pink, along with a few white hearts. Not A Plain Jane is named for one of my favorite people. She is sophisticated, feminine, completely fun, and known to sprinkle fairy dust in the lives of those she loves.

I just love the descriptions that she has of her polishes.. It's just so great!!

I loved this polish, it's so pretty and feminine, and I decided to layer it over Zoya Midori! Which almost makes it look like I have watermelon nails.. Super sweet huh?? It went on well, and I had zero application trouble!

The below pictures are two coats of Not a Plain Jane over Zoya Midori with one coat of Dazzle Dry, to even it all out and make it smooth.
